Orange Crunch Cake

 

ORANGE CRUNCH CAKE

Another Bubble room favorite 

2 boxes yellow Betty Crocker cake mix 

2 Tbsp orange extract 

Substitute orange juice for water 

Follow directions on cake mix and add extract 

CRUNCH MIX:

1 1/2 C brown sugar 

1 1/2 C graham crackers crumbs 

1/2 C toasted almonds 

Mix ingredients together and press into bottom three 9” buttered cake pans. 

Icing:

1.5 lb confectioners sugar 

16 oz cream cheese 

1 lb butter 

1 Tbsp orange extract 

2 seedless oranges, thinly sliced

Whip cream cheese and butter. Add other ingredients. Garnish with sliced oranges. 

I thought the icing was a bit sweet so I added 3/4 C high quality cocoa powder and it was perfect. Plus chocolate and orange together are a dream right?!
