Grandma Mary's English TOffee

Melt the following on med-hi (CONSTANTLY STIRRING) to 275 degrees.

1/2 lb butter
1 C. sugar
3 T water

Pour into greased cookie pan. Spread quickly while hot. Pour on chocolate chips--will spread. Sprinke chopped pecans/walnuts.
